My Bay Van

If you don't know much about these vehicles then you may be wondering why I created this page. Well the fact is that there are numerous variations and modifications that can be made to these beasties. Here's what I know about my bay:
General
She's a 1971 left-hand drive, walk-through, early bay panel van and was originally dove blue.
Chassis & Suspension
Chassis number is 2112029442.
She's been lowered and has adjusters on the front beam with KYB GR2 dampers.
Engine
I actually have what I understand to be the original 1500 engine (AD272108) which I may rebuild however she currently has a 1600 dual port engine (AD863242).
The carburettor is a Weber 32/36. I wasn't sure about this for the first couple of years I had her, it might have been a copy, as there were no obvious markings. However in 2010 the bearings on the generator seized up and I had to take the carb out in order to replace the generator (actually I took the opportunity to convert to using and alternator), and found "WEBER" stamped on the back.
Just one final thing: the engine has no extra oil coolers/filters and stuff so it takes the standard 2.5 litres of oil. I'm putting that here because although I change it regularly, I managed to forget that number and have to look it up every time.
Wheels
MWS type 2 five-spoke alloys, about which the March 1995 copy of VolksWorld magazine says:
"Chris Brown re-tooled the MWS EMPI five-spoke replica to fit straight on to 1971 and later Type 2s. It is one of the few alloys made to suit this vehicle."
nb: MWS = Midland Wheel Suppliers
Brakes
Discs on the front and drums on the back.
